Complex La Tunuri - Vila Economat Sinaia

"La Tunuri-Vila Economat" Complex is situated on the Peles Royal Domain, in the yard of the two famous castles: Peles and Pelisor.
On the time of kings, this building was called “Corpul de Garda”, built in the same period with Peles Castle, between 1880-1883, and today, after more than 30 years since it was built, was renovated with good taste and is ready to meet the most sophisticated demands.
Besides Peles castle were built: “Pelisorul”, “Corpul de Garda”, Economat House, House of Hunting “Foisor”, the stables, the power plants and “Sipot” Villa. Until the end of construction of Peles (1883), King Carol I and Queen Elizabeth, lived at the House of Hunting, which was finished before the castle. Because of its electrical plant, Peles was the first electrified castle in Europe.
“Corpul de Garda”, represented the building for royal guards. Here slept the officers , here were the garages, and also the telephone plant of the Peles Castle. After a long period of time the building was closed during communism,and also after the revolution, it was reopened as accommodation unit, and now has 16 spaces for accommodation, most of them with view to the most beautiful museum in Europe.
The swiss-style architecture, the alleys between castles, the historical decor, all give the impression of returning in time away from crowded urban cities.

When it was called “Corpul de Garda” in the place where now is the restaurant were the garages.
The complex also has a café-bar located on the back of the building with a generous terrace open to Peles Castle and guests can indulge in cake-pastry delights, carefully prepared in own laboratory.
The name "La Tunuri" (At Cannons) is represented by the authentic cannons placed on the cafe-bar terrace , purchased by King Carol I and used in the 1877 war of Independence against Turkey. The two guns are the symbol of this tourist complex, but also a tourist attraction.
Near the complex, besides the two famous castles, there is also the main attractions of the city: Sinaia Monastery, the ski slopes, Gondola, the road to Poiana Stanii and the road to Cota 1400.
