Are you tired? Would you like to take a rest and relax in a quiet place at a reasonable price? You are welcome in the Eastern-Mecsek landscape protection area in the most beautiful valley of the Mecsek Mountain. We recommend it especially for those who are looking for truly clear forest air, since the stream in the valley generates an extraordinary microclimate. From early May until the end of October we offer local venison and fish dishes in our restaurant. For groups (8-100 members) or for individual guests we propose different activities (organised on special request) in the area. Annual programmes: First weekend of March: Rolling of the fire-wheel from the hillside “Hutzel-Sonntag”, presentation of the old folk-tradition by the inhabitants of Óbánya, with German verses and plays First weekend of April: Wine-competition in Mecseknádasd, where 250-300 wines are tested, following the ceremonious announcement of the results there is amusement until next morning April 30: “Kretzelfest”, exhibition of the selected wines of Mecseknádasd Outdoors programme, brass band, merriment May 1: Picnic in Óbánya, excursion in the forest, free bacon- and sausage-roasting Competition for stew-pot cooks, live coal for those who wish barbecuing, beer on draught, live-music, service June 10: Dedication festival/church-ale in Ófalu August 20: Dedication festival/church-ale in Mecseknádasd Second weekend of October: Dedication festival/church-ale in Óbánya. On the second day traditional cock-beating Grape harvest festival in Mecseknádasd Walking tours in the forest: Forest walks (adequate to the physical condition of the group) with guide Picnic packages with beverages Barbecue party at the end of the tour (on request) Excursion to Püspökszentlászló (by bus or on foot with guide): Visiting the bishop’s cottage (baroque castle) Shingled chapel Arboretum (9 English acres) Historical-religious tour: St.Stephen’s Chapel, Pilgrim-place (birthplace of Scottish St.Margaret, grandchild of St.Stephen), Ruins of Schlossberg, Castle and museum of Márévár at Magyaregregy Visiting the village museums: In all three Swabian villages of this region you can visit the local museum which displays the life of Danubian Swabians in three different aspects. Traditional handicrafts presented by craftsmen: Ceramic shop (You can try it yourself!)
