Michelsberger Haus Cisnădioara

One of the oldest dwellings in beautiful Cisnadioara village, Michelsberger Haus is a central feature of the main square.
The village itself is home to the oldest Fortified Church in Transylvania, which has a fascinating history of its own. Records show that in 1223 local Magistrate, Domnal Gozelinus, gifted the place to the monastery in nearby Carta. Thus, he hoped to secure his place in the hearts of the monks but more importantly, his place amongst the angels in heaven.
Whilst exploring the picturesque lanes and pretty pathways it’s also worth visiting the central Saxon Church, dating from 1764. Here, amid the beautifully painted pews and vaulted ceilings, you will find the oldest functional organ in Transylvania. Most Sundays you will also hear it in service during morning prayers. In the area one can find marked trails for walking, hiking and biking. Sibiu is only 9 km away from the village and Cisnadie only 3 km away. In Cisnadie you can find a spa center that is also accessible by foot. Our 300 year old house was was restored with a lot of love and attention to details.
