Katarina Birtok Nemesnádudvar

In one of the most beautiful wine-district of the country, in the southern part of the Great Plain ( between Kiskunhalas and Baja ) situated Nemesnádudvar. The forefathers migrated to this village from the present-day South-Germany area in the XVIII. century. 75 percent of the inhabitants are still with german origin.

The road directing into the village’s center is lined with low-built facade buildings. The frontages, proportioned with big doors and unusually small windows hide wine-cellars. These are made up of the hole-cellar (digged into the earth) for the storage of wine and the press-room, in which the grape-processing happens.

This is the place, where the KNÁB PENSION’s building, decorated with all of the elements of the classic Swabian architecture draws the attention to itself. Thanks to the good result of a reconstruction, the staff of the pension can welcome the guests in an environment of high level. We can accomodate 50 persons at the same time in the 17 rooms with 2-4 beds and shower, toilet.

In the closed yard the guest, arriving with cars can park safely. The conference room opening from here can host 60 persons and can be used for other purposes ( community programs, vocational trainings etc.). The pension is an ideal place for a long weekend or for a whole week, involving societies, friendly companies and families alike.

During the recreation, the the pension should offer the following programs: visiting the wine-cellars, boating, cycling trip or hiking, hunting, tennis, riding, taking a drive. Cycles and boats can be rent from us. The Village Museum is placed in the building of the pension, so it may be visited any time. The village’s Catholic Church was build in 1736. The beautiful frescoes decorating the church’s inner parts were made in 1936 by Kuczka Mihály.

In the larger neighbourhood of the settlement can be found many world-wide famous beauty spot, including the Forest of Gemenc, the Kiskunsági National Park, Ópusztaszer, hot springs (Kiskunhalas, Kiskunmajsa), islands on Danube, museums in the nearly towns (Baja, Kecskemét, Kalocsa).

For the useful and cretive spending of the holiday we offer other possibilities with our program-pack. Our guests can come to know the still living populare traditions, for example: feast at pig-killing, wine-sampling, jam-making, the surrounding festivals, church-ales .
